Jaihind Reading Movement

Reading enriches thoughts and develop personality. It edifies one’s mind completely. The main objective of this movement is therefore to create an interest of reading amongst the children through which their personalities are developed and their cognitive abilities are increased. Reading also develops, one’s language, skills and values. This movement thus aims at inculcating he reading habits not only amongst the youth but grown-ups as well. Reading strengthens children's linguistic skills of different language grounds such as English or Marathi. In this movement, we make groups of children in five, and ask them to present and write a summary on the books they have read. This helps them to develop perception, comprehension and abilities through expression such as verbal or written.

we have also undertaken the movement of establishing libraries in every Village, and keep them functioning.

We have further arranged amobilelibrary, through which lecture series and various activities that are being conducted. Training seminars on how to read, write, and present in an interview are also being held. Through the above training seminars, communication with well-known writers are also being arranged. One must understand that development of language is essential and is the bed rock foundation for comprehension of any given subject and have expertise on the same. . If proper books are read and if the aim and central theme of the book is understood by the students them good values are imbibed among them. It helps them to have some definite aim in life and inspires them to strive hard to achieve that aim. Advancement of moral values is of atmost importance for creation of a healthy society. Reading movement enables people to achieve this aim. If students read two books every month, and comprehend them, they will be able to read 20 books per year. During their schooling from Std. V to Std. X, they will thus be able to read more than 100 books in five – six years which will certainly make their world of knowledge truly prosperous.
